What to wear to a wedding
Groom, close family or guest: a ready look and budget for each.
An Uzbek wedding is a big celebration: hundreds of guests, lots of photos and long hours of dancing. Your outfit has to look good and stay comfortable. Here are three ready answers depending on your role.
For the groom
A three-piece suit is the most formal choice: the waistcoat keeps the look complete when the jacket comes off, which helps a lot on the dance floor. Black or navy, a white stretch-sateen shirt, leather oxfords and an automatic-buckle belt. Budget: around 1,500,000 so'm.
For close family
A classic two-piece in navy or charcoal. A white or light blue shirt, tie optional. You'll wear the suit to the office afterwards, so it pays for itself.
For guests
A slim suit, or dress trousers with a mandarin-collar shirt. No tie, still elegant. For a summer wedding, a linen-blend suit and suede loafers stay comfortable in the heat.
What to avoid
- Trousers that are too long; the creases show in photos. We hem them for free.
- Brand-new shoes for a whole evening; wear them at home for a day or two first.
- A belt and shoes that don't match.
A quick fit guide: the jacket should sit right on your shoulders, with the seam at the edge. The sleeve covers the wrist bone with about 1 cm of shirt cuff showing. Never fasten the jacket's bottom button.
Even with one day to go you'll make it: the store is open 24/7, our stylist will pick a look for free and trousers are hemmed in 30 minutes. See ready looks in the Wedding season lookbook.
