5 ways to wear a white shirt
One shirt, five looks: from the office to a wedding, an evening out to the weekend.
The white shirt is the most versatile piece in a man's wardrobe. It costs 149,900 so'm, yet with the right pairings it gives you dozens of looks. Here are the five most useful.
1. Classic office
White shirt, navy or charcoal dress trousers, a black leather belt and oxfords. The tie is optional. It looks confident in any meeting or interview.
2. Suit and wedding
A white shirt with a black or navy suit is the safest choice for a wedding. You'll be moving a lot that day, so pick a slim shirt with some stretch; it stays neat for hours.
3. Casual with jeans
Roll the sleeves twice, open the top button and wear it with dark jeans and white sneakers. You don't have to tuck it in, but the hem shouldn't be too long.
4. Under a cardigan or sweater
In autumn, layer a grey cardigan or V-neck jumper over the white shirt, collar out. It's a soft but tidy office style. Chinos and loafers finish it off.
5. Open over a tee
In summer, wear a linen or light cotton shirt open over a white tee. With beige chinos or linen trousers and loafers, it's an easy holiday look.
Keeping it white
Wash it apart from coloured clothes at 30–40°C and rub the collar and cuffs with soap first. Dry it on a hanger and it will be easier to iron.
Everything for these looks is in one place: shirts, trousers and suits in our catalogue, and a store that's open 24/7.
